What's The Use Of Vitamins?

You may wonder--just what is the use of vitamins? After all  aren't they  just chemical substances that we don't really need? We want to keep our bodies free from drugs and other forms of substances that don't belong in our system.
I hear you. A pill, liquid nor tablet that is meant to replace or supplement something we need but may not be getting on a regular basis is intrusive. Besides there is always the chance of toxicity We may be taking something we don't need.
That is why I always advise people to see their care giver to see if there is a need.
The need for supplementation is only if you are unable to get your complete nourishment needs met through what you are putting in your frame in the way of food. You are well aware that we need carbohydrates for the fast acting fuel for the body. This is in the way of simple carbs in the form of glucose and fructose. Then there are the complex carbs such as starch and fiber
You will need your fats which come in two types. Fats are needed for the fat soluble vitamins you will be taking such a E and A and D.  The two types of fat are  the monounsaturated fatty acids. This is your good fat found in nuts, olives, avocados, and olive oils. Then you have the polyunsaturated fatty acids which combines the good and bad fats. Use these with caution.
You have heard about Omega-3 fatty acids which boost brain function and help fight coronary disease. This you want.
There is also Omega-6 fatty acids which can be found in the polyunsaturated fat oils such as vegetable, corn and soybean oil. They won't go as rancid as fast as those containing Omega-3.
These you need to keep in balance 1:1.
The body also needs Protein which is the super fuel your muscles use. They are the nutritional builders. Body builders need lots of protein to get those muscles formed and some extra amoino acids aere needed. These can be gotten from supplements
If you decide to get your  vitamins from the food you eat then I would suggest you read your labels very carefully. More sugar + more fat+more salt= less nutrition- is the formula to use.
. But use wisdom when you do, because labels have been known to lie. For example, not all milk is equal,  Not all fruit juices are full of fruit. Not all "Heart Healthy" foods are good for your heart. Not all breakfast items are low in sugar. Plan yogurt is okay. Yogurt with fruit is not as nutritious as you think. not all "fat-free" items are good for you.
As you problably have concluded it may not be possible to completely get your vitamin needs met through what you eat. Which is why vitamins are needed.
What's the use of vitamins? I will let you answer that. After all, it is your move.
