Vitamins and Alzheimer's Disease

As I talk in this blog about vitamins I just thought it would be nice to reconmend a handbook you can look at and research what you are being asked to take.
I want to talk about Vitamins and Alzheimer's Disease.
It is unfortunately a terminal disease and so far there is no cure.
The brain we have is about three pounds and as we age the brain goes through a process of atrophy. It shrinks.
This disease starts in the hippocampus region of the brain. This part of the brain is needed for learning and memory. As time goes on  symptoms of Alzheimer's disease become more pronounced.
This disease is named after a German nueropathologist who is 1906 named it after observing "pre-senile dementia" and postulated it was a different disease than dementia. He postulated that pre-senile dementia occured as the brain deteriorated, but senile dementia was caused by vascular problems.
We must realize that all communication in the brain depends on the function of neurotransmitters. These are the chemicals that relay signals throughout the brain. The brain uses vitamins supplements to best function. The top three it uses are the B vtamins; Folic Acid, B6 and B12.
I contend that better nutrition can lead to improved learning and IQ.

So I would suggest a daily intake of mutivitamins and omega-3 fish oil.
Omega-3 is an antioxidant and helps fight off the bad free radicals.
Yes, we do have free radicals in the brain. Free radicals can cause our cells to mutate and rust. When they mutate they may turn into cancer cells.
Alzheimer's disease is terminal. We can slow it down with nutrition and supplements.
It is not guaranteed to stop the disease but it can help nourish the brain and maybe slow down and lessen the effects.
Vitamins and Alzheimer's disease. It is worth the try.

Mutivitamins And Morning

Thank you for coming to this blog to read my input.
I guess you can say I am interested in health and nutrition.
I get up each morning happy to be breathing. God is good and He got me up for another day.
I do my morning routine. Visit the bathroom before going in  to breakfast, I have my food and
multivitamins. I have my breakfast juice. It is not always from a juicer.  But if I had my druthers it would be. It just takes time to do things right. Most of the time, unless it is planned for
The meal each morning is pretty much a surprise. Somedays my wife makes hot cereal. Others it is a bagel and cream cheese. (I know, that is why I need vitamins) I would bet you that your morning meal is equally as non-healthy.
It fills you up for a little while and then the crash comes.
Other mornings it is bacon and eggs. One morning it may be cream chipped beef on toast.
    Another reason for multivitamins.
I also have coffee. Caffine is an important drug. It does help the brain some. When you take it black it is the best.
But always remember multivitamins and the morning. You could space it out during the day, but most vitamins are best taken with a meal. Try to avoid a bad stomach.
As the vitamin dessolves it gets into the blood stream and circulates , getting absolbed by your organs
So I start my day right with multivitamins and specailize supplements for heart, liver, and antioxidants..

Maybe you would like to share what you do in the morning for breakfast. After all, it is the most important meal of the day. Skipping this meal will not help you at all if you are undergoing a weight loss diet.
Maybe I will post on that subject a little later.

Juicing Is Good For You

The best way to get the full benfit of a vegetable or fruit is to juice it.
Yes, juicing is good for you. The first thing in the morning after you jump out of bed and after the shower, go in your kitchen and take out your Omega Commercial Juicer.
Put some fruit and after puttin gt he cap on the juicer unit, turn on the machine and juice away.
You will get all the pulp and vitamins and nutrients. It will be easy to drink down. Do this alone with taking your vitamins.
     Also don't forget to exercise.
I trty top stay in fairly good condition by having my vitamins every mornming. At the moment it is only nine vitamins incuding the multivitamin.- A- C- an E- and fish oil tablet,- a stress formula, -D3..
www.vitaminspower.com
I do weights. Upper body exercises. Knee bends.
You have to stay in good shape. I don't want ato develop a case of Alzheimers and that can come about if the blood does't get around the body and up to the brain.
The brain needs about 20% of the body's blood pumped through the heart per minute, so it is very important that the blood gets circulated. Also there are vitamins that help the blood flow. E is one of them. C is another. Fish oil is very important
And it can all start by morning juidcing.
    Juicing is good for you.
And here is a juicer you can order:

High Glucose Is Not Good

Sometimes our body overdoses on glucose which is a simple sugar that all cells require for energy. Our pancreas fights back but is unable to produce enough insulin or sometimes even over produces insulin. When that happens we start a form of diabetes.
   High glucose is not good.
Our blood overloads on glucose and we have trouble in the secretion of insulin.
Diabetes comes in two types. Type one is found in children or adolescence. Once a person becomes an adult --this is when type two is found more often.
Type two is a slow one. It often comes in cases where the person is a bit obese.
You know you may have it if you find yourself frequently urinating. you may develop a increased hunger and weight loss at the same time.
No one is quite sure what causes it.
But high glucose is not good.
It is postulated that some foods may help you if you have diabetes. You can eat foods high in complex carbohydrates because you digest these slowly and it will enter your blood stream gradually.
You also will need dietary fiber  which will aid in the feeling of being satisfied. And if you have soluable fiber in you it will help decrease serum cholesterol.
Vitamin C will help protect your veins and connective tissue. Your intake of vitamin C will also act as an antioxidant that will help cut down on the damage to the cells caused by the diabetes.
What ever you do , see your doctor. Don't self prescribe. Your caretaker should be the first to determine the best diet for you. And the caretaker should be the one who determines which health supplement you should be taking. This is even acknowledging that in all possibilities he or she did not take a course in nutrition while in medical school.
      Better health through vitamins.

Start The Day Right

Got up after a night of off and on sleep. But I still had to get up to see my wife off to work.
So I shaved and went in to the kitchen for breakfast. Rice and sausage gravy. I didn't forget the juice and the vitamins. I believe : start the day right.
I realize that breakfast would not provide me with all my vitamins so I always take my multivitamins and the E and C and D3 and the fish oil.
I read the paper after getting my wife to the bus. After which I read some before getting on my computer to do the days' work.
I work from the house yet I spend most of my time at the library because the city library here has the WiFi hookup and I have a laptop that can use it. For some reason there never was a WiFi hookup done in  the apartment.

For those of you who need a suggestion on what to take-- try the above.  or for your Omega 3 try this one here:
You will not be disappointed and you will be find good health through vitamins.

Vitamins and Breakfast

To start off this post and this blog let me welcome you readers. I am in this post going to be talking about Vitamins and breakfast.
But first let me inform you that I think supplements to our diet are very important. You may think you get all your nutrients through what you eat. That is not true Even if we eat the best diet there is, the ground it came from has been depleted therough overuse.
Therefore we need to replace what we have lost. This is why supplementation is important. We need to replace what is not there.
To start the day right we need to eat breakfast. Don't skip it. The body needs it and especally your brain needs it. It needs more than a cup of coffee and a donut or a piece of toast.
I start each day with my vitamins and breakfast. Since I have a web site-- a store-- that sells vitamins on line, it would not be wise for me not to take vitamins.
So I start each morning with my mutivitamins. I take a Spectavite formula sold at the local CVS. As long as the multivitamion contains what you need there is no need to get a well known designer brand. If you were to go to my vitamin shop page for multivitamins you  should find something.
If you are female there is an aisle on the web site that you can shop in. This page   would do nicely for you.
I don't just take multivitamins. I also  take extra E- 400 IU to maintain a heathy heart. I take CoQ10 at 200 mg for heartt health and energy production. Extra C is important for me and that comes to an extra 500 mg. This helps in immune health.
To help with the stress of the day I take a stress formula B complex with Zinc. And it has been advised that I take D3 for my bone health. That is about 2000 IU
For my joints, since they have to be fed too, I take 1500 mg of Glucosamine. I also take for my Omega 3  boast and for the health of my brain fish oil pills of 1000 mg.
