Is a Vegetarian Diet Okay?
First off let me say it seems to be hard to have a true vegetarian diet. This is a diet that leaves out eggs and meat protein.
It is hard since the food eaten by the average American per year includes 214 pounds of meat (red meat, fish, chicken) along with 32 pounds of egg and 600 pounds of dairy products (including milk)
The fruit consumption is around 644 pounds which include vegetables. When it comes to potatoes we consume around 67 pounds. When we eat grains the amount in pounds becomes 150 pounds.
Soft drinks we consume is about 46 gallons. We consume about 26 gallons of alcoholic beverages. We are not looking at coffee or tea or chocolate.
I don't know what ther developing world consumes.
I will define an adequate diet as that which provides a sufficient amount needed of nutrients and energy for human maintenance, growth and reproduction.
So the question to ask is, can we get an adequate diet being on a vegetarian diet?
There are two ways to look at the question. Are we talking vegan or lacto-ovo vegetarian?
A vegan will stay away from all foods of animal origin. When we look at the lacto-ovo vegetarian we see a person who only abstains from eating meat and fish. The problem could be that for the vegan eliminating all types of animal products opens a person to the risk of certain nutritional deficiencies. To do so cuts one off from vitamins B12 and D, along with calcium and the long-chained fatty acids.
B12 is useful for cell division and blood formation. D helps in many ways and I am sure I covered D earlier in my blog posts. Calcium is good for bone formation and organ maintenance.
I don't think it very smart to cut out eggs as they are a form or protein and the body needs protein.
Let me hear from you. Let's start a conversation.

Good Health Through Vitamins- Not Always through Health Food Alone
I realize the readership on this blog has almost disappeared. It is because I haven't spent any time here. I need in this blog series of posting to keep you aware that vitamins are needed to keep your body healthy and in good repair. It really does
Not all of our nutrients that we need can be obtained by what we eat alone. And this is not a discussion on vegan vs vegetarian vs meat eater. It is just a fact
There is a missing ingredient for good health and I can offer you an e-book . It will explain what you need to know. And I will have kept this blog post alive.
Just check the digital offering out and see if it doesn't help.
Along with this knowledge you will, of course, need the supplements that are out there. Health food alone won't do it. Our bodies need good food and good supplements to operate correctly.

Good Health This Season
Christmas will soon be here. The tree will be up. The presents will be under the tree. The family will be there. A time of good cheer.
The best I can wish you this time of year is good health this season.
That means you should be eating right and for what you can't get through food you are getting through supplements. Earlier I offered a thirty day package of Nutrilite vitamins. The idea of the thirty day package was that every month you would need more. And I would like to offer you here the refill that you need once you have the container which will always be used.
Stay in good health this season and throughout the year.
Better health through vitamins.

Health Starts With Good Supplementation
I notice that very few of you people reading this blog are communicating with me. That is alright. I just don't know what to offer you if you don't let me know.
Soon it will be Christmas time and then Christmas. This year I have a suggestion. Since I will put forth the idea that health starts with good supplementation I would like to offer you a good supplement. It is a great multivitamin . Get in good health and face the new year knowing that you have the best health aid around.
I take it and I feel great. I have had fewer sick days and the energy to exercise daily. I am sure my wife can tell you how great I am in bed, but that is another subject.
So this Christmas, if you are still looking for what to get for that hard-to-shop-for person, get them this item.
It will start them off to a good healthy life.

Alzheimer's And Good Health
It is a slow progressive and terminal disease.. Alzheimer's is a chronic disease and abnormal impairment is a warning sign. About half of all people over the age of eighty-five have Alzheimer's according to the Alzheimer's Association. However this does not mean it is part of "normal aging".
It appears from my research that the vulnerability to Alzheimer's and other dementia is influenced by your genes. A lifestyle change and the environment can mute the effects.
This disease has steps. The early Alzheimer's effects your perception of things. You lose balance a little, the room seems to weave under you. Depth perception is affected. ( this I get from reading a book written by an early Alzheimer's sufferer.) and balance is affected. You forget directions (left, right, up, down) you forget how to exit parking lots. You don't remember names as readily. Toxic beta-amyloid is building up in the brain. That is just another name for rust that has been brougt about by free radicals killing your cells.
Cells can grow back. And they do. .By consuming the right foods and nutrients along with supplements we can control the disease. Also by exercising our bodies (Which will send more blood to the head-- our brain needs 20 percent of the blood our heart pumps each minute) and taking control of our blood sugar and stress, we can lower our chances of Alzheimer's.
If Alzheimer's is suspected you should consult your neurologist-- try to find a geriatric specialist- who can administer the tests to recognize brain disorder.
To help yourself drink tea. Start using olive oil in your dressings. Eat nuts. Get your niacin. Get enough sleep. Take care of your teeth. Bad oral hygiene affects your brain.Stop smoking if you do. Take vitamin D. Take B12. Use vinegar in everything as a staple. Coffee is good for you so drink some. Someone has suggested you drink as much as you can stand, but I will leave that up to you. And walk, walk, walk,
Exercise your brain by thinking and doing something new. Try making a list of ten things- new things-- you would like to engage your brain in and then start doing them. Go out and learn a new language. Start playing video games. Get those neurons stimulated. As it has been said, think outside the box.
Take a multiple vitamin each day. Go for things rich in nutrients and antioxidants. Restrict your drinking of soda. Eat berries. Take care of yourself.
A mind is an awful things to lose without a fight. The ball is now in your corner.
For further information look at this book.
